S: you know, Mary, I feel we meet somewhere before. Where were you born?

M: I was born in Beijing, but I spent most of my childhood in London.
我在北京出生，后來去了倫敦。
S: what was your childhood like?
你的'童年生活怎么樣?
M: I had a pretty strict upbringing, and my parents taught at an university so they have extremely high expectations for me.
我小時候家教特別嚴，我父母以前是大學老師，對我期望特別高。
S: where did you go to university?
你在哪里上的大學?
M: my parents wanted me to stay in Beijing, but I decided to go back to England. I graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a degree in Cross Culture Communication.
我父母想讓我留在北京，可是我決定回英國。后來我從紐卡斯爾大學畢業(yè)并且拿到了跨文化交流專業(yè)的學位。
S: what is your current occupation?
那你現(xiàn)在做什么工作呢?
M: I am a journalist. I write for China Daily.
我做記者，在《中國日報》工作。
S: did you know that you wanted to be a journalist right after your graduation?
那你一畢業(yè)就知道自己相當記者嗎?
M: no, I didn’t. I started working at a university in London but as time went by, I found I did not really like my job. I decided to explore other fields. Journalism is great fit for me as well as a challenge.
沒有。我最初在倫敦一所大學教書，顆后來我覺得自己并不喜歡當老師。于是就決定嘗試一下其它領域。新聞工作對我來說不失為一種新的嘗試和挑戰(zhàn)。
S: do you like your current job?
那你喜歡你現(xiàn)在的工作嗎?
M: yes, I came to Beijing two years ago looking for new opportunities. I was lucky because my friend introduced me to my current company.
是的，兩年前我來到北京，希望找到新的機會。當時很幸運，一個朋友介紹我進了現(xiàn)在的公司。

Wow! They've got everything here. All the world's famous brands. Aunt Cindy, what is your favorite brand?
哇，這里什么都有啊，國際名牌齊全。辛迪阿姨，你最喜歡的牌子是哪個?
Cindy：
I love all the fashionable things. But my favorite brand is Chanel.
我愛所有時尚的東西。不過，我最喜歡的牌子是香奈爾。
Denny：
Oh, that's a very expensive brand, but with good reason.
哦，那個牌子很貴，不過確實值得。
Cindy：
Yeah. Each style is specially designed by world's top designers. So they can always make you look amazing.
是啊，每一款都是由世界頂級設計師專門設計的。所以它們總是能使你看起來很棒。
Denny：
I see. Come here. The high heels here look really attractive. But I wonder whether it's comfortable to wear any of them?

Cindy：
Not really, especially at the beginning, if you wear high heels all day long, your feet would hurt. But, no big deal. Women can always get used to that.
不會很舒適。尤其是剛開始穿的`時候，如果一整天都穿著高跟鞋，腳會很疼。但是，也沒什么大不了。女孩都會適應那個的。
Denny：
It's not a simple thing to be beautiful.
想變漂亮也不容易啊。
Cindy：
Sure. But everyone loves to be beautiful. Hey, do you think this pair of sunglasses matches the handbag well?
那當然。不過每個人都愛美啊。噯，你覺得這副太陽鏡和這個手提包搭配起來怎樣?
Denny：
Yeah, very tasteful. And with them, you look even more fashionable. Oh, there are so many French perfumers. Oops, perfumes for guys? So strange!

Cindy：
Come on. Fashion is not only for women. Men also share the equal right to chase fashion. It's the new fashion for men to wear perfumes, which is called cologne.

It takes time for that. But people's consuming attitudes are changing quickly.

That's true. Well, it's obvious that fashion is not a cheap thing. So, do you spend all your money on it?

Cindy：
No. Fashion is just part of my life, which improves its quality. But also, I'm good at financing. I have a credit card, but I never overdraft.

Denny：
How is it that you are my mom's sis? You two are so different. She always picks up bargains and spends more than she earns. You do so much better than her.

Cindy：
I have to say that's just the result of difference of our consumptive habits.

W:I've always got real to something sweet.
M:What are you going to try first?
W:I've never tryed traditional Greek yoghurt, so I want to try that first.
M:Is this yoghurt with anything?
W:I believe that locally prejuce honey to it.
M:That sounds good, I'm going to start with the Italian tilmisue.
W:Do you want to try some my yoghurt, It's a favor everyday dessert in Greece.
M:ohh
W:What do you think, how does it taste?
M:It's nice, but it's rather plain, do you want to try my tilmisue?
W:Sure, I'll just buy it.
M:What do you think, does it taste good?
W:It's absolutely delicious, that's the best tilmisue I've had.
M:I'm glad you like it, I don't care for it, when I to finish my tilmisue, that I can try one of those fryed bananas.
W:OK, I've had ones before, they are very sweet.
M:Do you know where are they from?
W:I believe that the local garlic in the south.
M:Do you want me to get you want to?
W:Yeah, why not, we vert the pig does it is.
M:OK, I'll be back with two try bananas in few minutes, wait for me here.

M:Is that your rabbit?
W:Yes, I just doctor her from human's society this weekend.
M:That's good of you, why did you decide to get a rabbit?
W:Well, I want to get a pet woundn't disturb the neighbours, at the same time, I want a pet that would be affectionate.
M:Rabbits aren't usually that affectionate, are they?
W:If you caluo them a lot when they were very young, they can just be as affectionate as dogs or cats.
M:I didn't know, are rabbits difficult to take care of?
W:Not really, I went to the veterinary to get her vaccinated, and she taught me all I need to do, with to make sure trim it's nails time to time, give her food and water, and clean it's cage.
M:That sounds pretty easy, do rabbits make your house smell?
W:No, rabbits aren't very stinky, as long as you clean the cage on the regular basis, it's not too bad.
M:Can you train a rabbit to do things?
W:You can't train them like you can train dogs, but you can train them to do some things, for example, you can train them to go to the bathroom, in a special rabbit toilet.
M:That's amazing, has she bited you yet?
W:Not yet, she is pretty tame, I think she must used to being around lots of different people.

W:Do you want noodles, vegetables, rice, meat，seafood, bean or dessert.

W:I used to buy lunche everyday for international food stores at school, everyday is an inventure.
