The Freedom and Quality of American Blacks

Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is “The Freedom and Quality of American Blacks”.

As we all know, in 1619, the first batch of black people were transported to James Don, which is the first place in the US to use black slaves. And these black slaves were brutally exploited and abused by white racist. Fortunately, Lincoln abolished slavery in the United States during the civil war. However, the black people didn’t receive the same treatment as whites. Instead, they could not get good jobs. They could not get good housing. They could not even get same chance of a good education than white Americans.During World War II, the black man, as a soldier, won the respect of society. After the war, they hoped that their civil rights would be also respected.Therefore, a NAACP (the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) organization led the civil rights movement in the US.Martin Luther King kept working toward the goal of equal rights. On April fourth nineteen sixty-eight, he died working toward that goal.

Today, although discrimination against black is not as rampant as before, but this does not mean that the fundamental change in American society for discrimination against blacks. The black movement leader, Martin Luther King, had died in less than fifty years,

and a nation’s mind would not have changed in such a short period of time.

In any case, the American black people have been fighting for freedom and equality and never stopped. We hope that one day they will be able to really get the equality and freedom that they want, as Martin said, ”When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children -- black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics -- will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: 'Free at last! Free at last! Thank God almighty, we are free at last!”

Thank you very much for offering me such a fantastic opportunity to be here. Today my topic is about choice and process. A research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one day. With so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of ma-ki-ng wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference.

Life is a box of chocolate; you never know what you will get. Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself. But he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistence we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles.

NO matter what the choice is, enjoy the process. In the process, your

potential will be inspired and new discoveries, improvement and progress will come to you. These are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you see it. These make your life colorful.

There is no need and I don’t want to judge whether it is right or wrong for me to be here, but I congratulate to myself for I gain and enjoy this fantastic experience. So my dear friends, never worry about your choice and enjoy the process. I am sure you will get something new and interesting tonight after you chose to come here. Thank you!

it’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—change the world, change ourselves.

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and

qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.

frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with them.indeed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. (examples).but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.

there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese

don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.

with the further development of the whole world, the cultural

communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the

answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to

educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

at last i’d like to share a famouse saying of gandhi with all of

you ,that is:if you want to change the world, then you must change yourself first.”

我很高興站在這里向各位報(bào)告speech-change世界,改變自己。

很明顯,西方節(jié)日越來越受歡迎的一天,而中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日被有些被忽視。不久之前大約10醫(yī)生在北京大學(xué)和清華大學(xué)宣布,我們應(yīng)該抵制西方節(jié)日的入侵,因?yàn)樗麄冋J(rèn)為西方節(jié)日是一個(gè)挑戰(zhàn)對(duì)我們的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日和文化。

坦率地說,我不太同意他們的觀點(diǎn)。事實(shí)上,我們不應(yīng)該忽視甚至拋棄我們的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日在中國(guó)擁有輝煌的歷史和燦爛的傳統(tǒng)。(例子)。但是我們?yōu)槭裁床荒芪�收有意義的`西方節(jié)日和文化。

顯而易見的原因有一些西方節(jié)日在中國(guó)很受歡迎。一方面,一些西方節(jié)日,我們中國(guó)沒有合理和有意義的,比如父親節(jié)和愚人節(jié)等另一方面,全球化的流行使西方文化在中國(guó)盛行。被這種趨勢(shì),中國(guó)unconsiciously參與西方節(jié)日和文化。

與整個(gè)世界的進(jìn)一步發(fā)展,不同國(guó)家和民族之間的文化交流變得更快,越來越重要。我們確實(shí)是來自不同國(guó)家,但我們是同一個(gè)世界的公民,所以不同國(guó)家的優(yōu)秀文化是人民的共同財(cái)富,每個(gè)人都在地上。為我們唯一的方法來保護(hù)我們的傳統(tǒng)文化拒絕外國(guó)文化嗎?答案肯定是否定的。我們應(yīng)該做的是不遺余力地教育中國(guó)了解和珍惜我們燦爛的傳統(tǒng),而不是拒絕外來文化。只有通過教育才能建立我們的信心對(duì)我們的文化和信仰。只有通過教育才能保持和促進(jìn)我們的祖先留給我們的財(cái)富。

I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! To begin with ,I want to ask a question .Does everybody dream a good dream last night? Actually ,today I want to talk about dream with you. Of course, What I want to talk is not a dream you have last night,but a dream—— about life.

Everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage,and we need dreams to support us. Dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but like most mariners（水手）,we can chart our course by them. With the dream,we have a direction,with a direction, we were no longer confused.With the dream, there is hope,With hope, we have the strength to fight.

But I know，life is tough,and there are always ups and downs, maybe we fail in the way to our aims,and we may feel depressed ,whenever at this time, the dream in our heart can always comfort us, encourage us ,and support us to move ahead .

Young!Fortunately, I am young now. Just due to it, I know that nothing is impossible.I firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. If

I can't realize my dream,it result from that I haven't work harder enough and I won't find other excuses. If no people believe you, you can make it to prove that you are right. If you think the god haven't blessed you and there is no truth here, you can become the god and create the truth.

"My breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous in Kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains." At some time in the past I also had am bitious words and I had some achievements. Each achievement results from my hard work. I always believe that "If you want to have more achievements than others, you must work harder."

In some extent, the dream is the hope. If you can insist on doing something, the victory will come.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today. Let's--- move ----out!
